Yesterday I did a little pre-holiday shopping - for myself, haha. I stopped into Sephora specifically to pick up the Yves Saint Laurent holiday makeup kit. I am huge fan of prepackaged makeup sets. They are the perfect little gift for yourself, any time of the year. I spotted this beauty in the Sephora holiday 2009 catalog I received in the mail earlier this week. I have to admit - being a handbag lover - I was instantly attracted to the gorgeous black YSL clutch. And for $60? Come on, how could I resist.
So here's my take on the set. I think it is totally worth the price. It includes a gorgeous, full size apricot-flavored lipgloss, a full size luminous radiance, a travel size mascara and a travel size eyeliner. I used everything but the mascara last night before I went to dinner. I love them all! The eyeliner goes on so smoothly and it's the perfect makeup bag size!
Now, the best part - the clutch. As I said, the main reason I purchased the set was for the adorable black clutch. It is one of the only makeup/perfume set bags that I've seen without the word "parfums" or something along those lines imprinted below the logo. I was a little disappointed by the quality of it, however. I guess one shouldn't expect much for the price - considering the 4 cosmetic items that were included. It is a little flimsy to touch, but at a glance it looks rather luxurious.
All in all, the YSL holiday 2009 gift set is worth every penny. I'm sure you'll love it as much as I did. But get it fast, because this item is a limited edition and probably will sell out before Christmas. Get it here @ Sephora.

Here's Miss Lohan herself wearing two pieces from Rebecca
Minkoff's clothing line: the polka dots Dylan
blouse and Bolero Blazer. What do you think of her getup? I
personally would have buttoned the blouse and sans the hat - it's
adorable.
And here's some fun - can you name Lindsay's bag?

I could think of no
bag more fitting for my first official handbag post than the
Alexander Wang Coco mini duffel. I first spotted this bag over
the summer in a US Weekly or Intouch magazine as the SOLD OUT
have-to-have bag of the upcoming fall season. I instantly took to
Google to find out where I could possibly find one for myself.
After hours of searching web stores and calling various handbag
departments at Saks, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus I was out of
luck.
I knew I had to have this
bag and didn't give up on my search. Luckily, a few days later I
was browsing Aloha Rag's website when I saw the Coco was in
stock. I placed my order and the rest is history.
Months later, this bag is still a hard one to come by. A few
online stores occasionally pop up with a limited number in stock.
Some have placed pre-orders over the summer that aren't shipping
until this month or December.
What do YOU think of the Coco duffel? Love it? Hate it? Do you
have one? Are you on a waiting list?
The Coco retails for $850.
